Capital Base Table.

This capital base table is like my personal phoenix. I have done it up numerous ways over the past 3 years with many different tops in many different mediums and sizes...........this incarnation is the end of the line. 58" round heart pine top having what is essentially a faux concrete finish that is very flat, will hide dirt and stains well. Table will easily accommodate 8 chairs.

Va. Chest (1820's)

This Virginia chest of drawers circa 1825, of walnut, yellow pine & poplar, is just a dream. Clean chest, never refinished, just nice additive finish which has naturally produced a wondrous patina. Made in the Roanoke area, this chest exhibits a certain  amount of  Scotch / Irish cabinetmakers flare, and it can be presumed that it's maker in the 1820's, was in fact an immigrant from the UK. More pics on the way on this piece. Ciao

Mod Teak Pedestal / Stand.

Was just working on the back of my truck in front of the store, and a really talented and prolific artesian brought me this mod inspired plant stand / pedestal. I was just taken by it right away. The teak wood top is 2 1/2 inches thick , and hand-worked super smooth The simplicity of the steel frame was what sold me on this piece as it keeps the pedestal's footprint open and airy. Good one.

43"tall- 18" diameter.

Kasonik Console.

Rollin' in at The Curious Orange Store.......Console designed by artist Abby Kasonik. Early 18th Century pine barn flooring from Lancaster County , PA is reclaimed and hand selected to become this strikingly simple and sophisticated piece. The console is bound by overscale dovetails, which provide a shockingly strong bond between the three planks that compose the table. The juxtaposition of early material and modern design aesthetic makes this piece truly unique. Ciao

Some pointed advice.....

Lots of my friends give me tons and tons of advice. Never-ending in fact. But alas, what is one to do but grin and bear it all, play nicely with others.......all the while laying ever so patiently in wait for those moments when the tables turn, the shoe switches feet, and then it's on like Donkey-Kong people..........

$225.00 each $400.00 pair
I have some pointed advice ; these antique African Antelepe horns, mounted thoughtfully on Buckingham slate riser stands, are simply put, Room-makers. They could go into lots of different domiciles, super versatile and super chic.

Southern Gothic Console.

Recent arrival at the Orange. Late 19th cent. wrought iron balcony turned console. I think this metal work is from the deep South somewhere, but not sure about specifics yet, in any case I call it a "Southern Gothic", console. It's super coolio, and has such strong presence & weight, the potential to really transform as a bar, entry hall landing-strip or focal piece on a porch. Enjoy.
